At Sysdig, we believe cloud security isn't a compromise - it's a promise. From the start, our mission has been clear: to help organizations secure innovation in the cloud, the right way. We created Falco, the open standard for cloud threat detection, and continue to lead the cloud security market with runtime insights, open innovation, and agentic Al. Creators of technology trusted by over 60% of the Fortune 500, Sysdig gives teams the real-time clarity to move fast and defend what matters most. Culture matters here. We believe diversity fuels stronger ideas, and open dialogue drives sharper decisions. Recognized as a Best Place to Work and one of Deloitte's fastest-growing companies for the past 5 years, we're here to raise the standard for what cloud security and workplace culture should be. If you have the passion to dig deeper, the desire to challenge convention, and the curiosity to build something better, Sysdig is the right place for you. What you will do • Own hosting/cloud cost transparency: build reporting and dashboards on unit economics and cost drivers by product, team, and workload. • Partner with engineering to identify and execute cost-saving opportunities, including rightsizing, reserved capacity, architecture changes, and non-production environment efficiency. • Build cost governance for AI/GPU compute and security telemetry pipelines as they scale with our AI-driven detection capabilities, including data retention and lifecycle decisions made in partnership with Security and Compliance. • Manage cost and pricing tradeoffs across our multi-cloud, multi-region infrastructure, including data transfer, residency, and compliance costs. • Translate infrastructure costs into cost-to-serve and gross-margin metrics that inform pricing and competitive strategy. • Partner with engineering leadership through a regular cadence to keep cost initiatives moving to closure, and report on savings delivered. • Embed directly with engineering teams to establish cost-aware architecture patterns, automated tagging hygiene, and regular cost-review cadences. What you will bring with you • 8+ years in FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or operational cost management, with proven experience leading enterprise-wide cost initiatives and influencing cross-functional leaders. • Demonstrated track record of reducing cloud/hosting spend at scale (AWS, GCP, or Azure). • Strong grasp of unit economics, with the ability to translate technical infrastructure costs into metrics that finance and business leaders act on. • Experience building governance processes and cross-functional accountability, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a highly visible role. • Proven ability to establish cross-functional governance structures across Finance, Product, and Engineering leadership to drive accountability. • Experience with GPU/AI compute cost optimization and/or high-volume data pipeline cost management. • Deep familiarity with multi-cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure) and massive-scale data ingestion/telemetry pipelines. What we look for • FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP), or equivalent hands-on experience, and familiarity with the FOCUS (FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification) framework. • Experience optimizing the cost of GPU/AI compute, or of high-volume data pipelines. • Hands-on experience with multi-cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure) and large-scale telemetry or data ingestion pipelines. When you join Sysdig, you can expect • Extra days off to prioritize your well-being • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with a 3% company match • Maternity and Parental Leave • Mental health support for you and your family through the Modern Health app • Full health benefits package for you and your family The U.S. annual salary range for this full-time position is between 198,000 and 247,000 USD/year.
