Quandela is a global leader in quantum computing, designing, building, and delivering cutting-edge quantum solutions for research and industry. Its offerings include a very energy-efficient quantum computers for data centers, full-stack quantum computing solutions accessible via the cloud, and algorithm access services for academic and industrial customers. Following a pragmatic, step-by-step roadmap, Quandela has been deploying industrial-grade systems since 2023 while developing future generations of fault-tolerant quantum computers capable of scaling through the integration of thousands of photonic components. Quandela is committed to making quantum computing accessible to all in order to address the most complex industrial and societal challenges. Learn more at: Quandela | Leading Photonic Quantum Computing Solutions Description of the Project We are looking for a Quantum Software Engineer to develop the future software stack for controlling utility-scale quantum computers. At the interface of the theory and engineering teams, this ambitious project aims to develop internal tools to streamline the operation of logical quantum circuits on Quandela’s spin-photonic quantum computers. This position requires a strong understanding of quantum computing protocols on real hardware, strong software engineering skills and proficiency with AI tools. Your Key Responsibilities: • Develop a new compilation stack translating high-level quantum circuits into hardware-aware pulse schedules optimized for our photonic quantum computers. • Drive long-term architectural strategy, technical roadmap, and cross-organizational alignment. • Contribute to the development of a digital twin, receiving hardware instructions to simulate the behavior of our future QPUs. • Stay up to date with the latest developments in quantum software. How You’ll Grow: • 3 months. By the end of the first quarter, you are expected to have a grasp over Quandela’s roadmap and specific approach to quantum computing. You understand how user operations are currently compiled to machine instructions and how that is expected to evolve • 6 months. By the end of the first semester, you have a firm understanding of Quandela’s technology and are already a key contributor to the compiler codebase for the near future • 12 months. You have a long-term vision over the quantum software’s activities, and are the owner of one or more work packages for strategic projects. Requirements What we're looking for:  • Master’s, or PhD in Quantum related field. • 2/4+ years of relevant experience in quantum software, quantum hardware automation, or related topics. Must-have:  • A good understanding of photonic-based quantum computing. • Strong proficiency in python. • Experience working at the interface of software, experimental hardware, and theory teams in the industry or academia. • Collaborative mindset, able to serve as a bridge between various teams. Important, but you can grow here:  • Proficiency in at least one system language (C++ or Rust) • Exposure to the quantum computing frontends and related ecosystem (e.g. cirq, qiskit, openqasm, cuda-q). • Hands-on experience with quantum photonic systems. • Familiarity with compilation mechanisms such as LLVM or compilation to microcode. Benefits • Competitive salary, flexible based on your experience • Profit-sharing & company savings plan • 100% health coverage (Alan) • 50% transport reimbursement or sustainable mobility bonus • Meal vouchers (Swile), Gymlib fitness support • Childcare assistance & referral bonuses (€1,000–€2,000) What we offer: • A meaningful role with real ownership, from day one • A team eager to collaborate and grow with you • A hybrid work model (3-4 days/week onsite in Massy, 1 day in Paris or 1 to 2 days remotely) • Daily exposure to the entire quantum stack — from high-level APIs to low-level firmware, and everything in between. Process • Talent Acquisition Interview (30' - 45') • Hiring Managers Interview (45') • Use Case (a live use case or one to be prepared at home and presented afterward) • Meeting with the teams • 2 to 3 reference check • Offer (This process is provided for guidance only and may evolve depending on the roles) At Quandela, we believe that the strength of our team is the plurality of experiences, perspectives, and journeys. We are committed to building a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment. All applications are welcome.  Find Jobs in France on Arbeitnow
