We are looking for a Composite Manufacturing Engineer to turn composite designs into flight-quality hardware. You will develop and improve carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer manufacturing processes, with a particular focus on filament winding. Our rocket is only as good as the process that builds it. You will help make composite manufacturing repeatable, ensuring that every part is produced consistently and meets the expectations of design and structural analysis. This is a hands-on role working closely with design, CNC machining, the Senior Composite Manufacturing Engineer, and composite technicians. About us We’re a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defense applications. We are already launching suborbital and ballistic rockets on a regular basis, have just crossed €10m in revenue for our first operating year and are applying our knowledge toward the development of an orbital rocket. We are working hard to build something truly spectacular. To thrive here you will need to be comfortable working at pace, with the autonomy to make decisions and execute on them quickly. If you’re excited by hard technical challenges and want a role where you will make a real difference each day to the future of the company, we may be the place for you. At our company, job titles and career progression are earned, not determined by years of experience alone. They reflect the responsibility you take on and the dedication you bring to each project. If you’re ready to rise to the challenge, we’d love to hear from you. Key responsibilities • Translate design and interface requirements into composite manufacturing processes and equipment specifications. • Develop CFRP manufacturing processes, with filament winding as the primary focus. • Work hands-on with lay-up, vacuum bagging, and oven or autoclave curing. • Define tooling, mandrels, and fixtures in collaboration with design and CNC machining teams. • Establish repeatable manufacturing processes and documentation from fibre placement through to demoulding. • Work closely with the Senior Composite Manufacturing Engineer and composite technicians to support safe, consistent, and efficient production. What we are looking for • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline. • At least two years of experience in CFRP manufacturing, including prepreg, autoclave, wet lay-up, or composite winding; strong student-team experience will also be considered. • Experience with tooling and fixture design for composite manufacturing. • Hands-on production and troubleshooting experience, with the motivation to develop further expertise in filament winding. • Fluent English and the ability to document manufacturing processes clearly. • A practical, methodical, and quality-conscious approach to working with composite hardware. Desirable experience • Filament-winding processes for pressure vessels, structural components, or other composite hardware. • Non-destructive testing, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria for composite parts. • Experience establishing composite manufacturing capability, equipment, and processes from the ground up. • Working proficiency in German. Benefits and important information: • We offer top-decile compensation packages, bonuses and meaningful equity, to attract exceptional aerospace talent. • Every employee is awarded stock options in the company, you will directly benefit from your own hard work and success. • Comprehensive relocation support including flights, shipping and visas. • Lunch, dinner and drinks provided everyday • Free access to shared company housing Please note, we are a fast paced, hyper-scaling startup. You will need to be comfortable working extended hours with high levels of autonomy, ownership, and flexibility, with contracts structured around a 48-hour working week. We are committed to building an equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, has equal access to opportunity, and can thrive.
