As a Senior UX Product Researcher on our team, you'll work alongside engineers, designers, and product managers to bring customer evidence into product and roadmap decisions. You'll go deep on how builders and technical teams actually work, and make sure their needs shape what we build. You'll lead end-to-end research programs across major product lifecycles, influence strategy through evidence, and help define the experience for the AWS service teams and customers who depend on our products every day. You'll partner closely with senior leadership and product stakeholders to ensure what we build is grounded in a deep understanding of our users — many of whom are technical builders with sophisticated needs. Why join us? - Work closely with engineering and bring customer evidence directly into technical architecture and roadmap decisions. - Research a sophisticated builder and technical audience whose work powers products used by millions worldwide. - Shape product and platform strategy through deep user understanding, not just validate decisions after they're made. - Collaborate with world-class designers, engineers, and product leaders in a culture that values innovation, ownership, and customer obsession. Key job responsibilities - Own and manage research programs for major product and service lifecycles, from discovery through launch and post-launch evaluation. - Design and execute research using a mix of methods suited to a technical audience — including developer and stakeholder interviews, surveys, diary studies, usability testing, and behavioral/log and telemetry analysis. - Embed with engineering teams to translate customer and builder needs into technical requirements and influence how services are designed. - Identify new research opportunities that inform product strategy and influence business decisions. - Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional partners and senior leadership. - Inform strategic planning documents (e.g., Press Releases / Working Backwards narratives) with customer evidence and recommendations. - Navigate ambiguous business problems and define research approaches that drive clarity. - Contribute to the broader research community through patents, publications, or internal knowledge sharing. About the team Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating — that's why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses. We make it radically easier for AWS service teams and customers to find, understand, and act on the right information about AWS services across regions. Behind that mission is the Product Registry — the source of truth for AWS service metadata (naming, categorization, lifecycle stage, ownership, hierarchy, regional availability, technical dependencies, and more). Service teams rely on us to track, report, and self-correct their feature catalogs; customers rely on us (through AWS Capabilities by Region and Capability Insights) to understand what's available where. We also help teams achieve parity across AWS regions as they expand. That's a rich experience problem: our users are technical, their decisions are high-stakes, and their current tools are complex. Research is central to how we decide what to build and judge whether it's working, and you'll have real influence over the direction of the product.
